The American Republic of Ieperithem (often referred to as Ieperithem) is a Democratic Republic situated in the Union of American Nationalists, and is led by President John Yeager.

Ieperithem was founded on September 17, 1944, and has an estimated land area of 3.517 million sq miles sq mi square miles, a population of 457 Million, and an estimated gross domestic product of 127.84 Trillion NSD. Ieperithem is a major power within its region.

Ieperithem is quite influential in the region, but abstains from membership in any international organizations that its populace feels would infringe on their civil and political liberties. It is, regardless, a key player on the international stage, and provides arms and military support to many organizations worldwide. Depending on the source, Ieperithem is either a stalwart defender of national sovereignty against the World Assembly's irresponsible and unjustifiable power grabs or a rogue state that uses its powerful military and international influence to thwart the WA's attempts at fostering world peace.

The strong and highly diversified private sector of Ieperithem has brought it a great deal of economic prosperity, and left it a highly developed nation. Industry in Ieperithem is centered on Information Technology, Arms Manufacturing, and the automotive industry, all of which are heavily automated. Of note is Ieperithem's large agricultural sector, which is watched over with uncharacteristic interest by the government, and is a point of national pride among Ieperithem's populace as well as a powerful asset in diplomacy. Government levies a flat tax which varies by year but is currently steady at approximately 10 percent. Citizens of Ieperithem enjoy a lucrative average wage of over 280,090 NSD($3782 ICD), yet unemployment rarely exceeds the natural rate. Poverty in the country is relatively low, mainly due to the rapidly expanding economy and the reasonable cost of living.

Ieperithem is well known throughout the region for its military, scientific, and economic accomplishments, the foremost of these being its rapid reconstruction following the end of the Second World War and its subsequent rise to superpower on the world stage. Even today, the culture of industriousness that pervades Ieperithem has granted it one of the most advanced and expansive manufacturing sectors in the world.

While the nation's capital is Washington's Legacy, it cannot be said to have any real political center due to the high level of political autonomy and the people's avowedly federalist beliefs. The federal government concerns itself mainly with military, political, and scientific affairs, leaving all else to the national Constitution and to more local authorities. Congress, due to the traditionalist beliefs of its voters, is not dominated by alliances of political parties, and each representative can be said to have their own interests and goals. While this can, at times, stall the legislative process, the people of Ieperithem tend to prefer the status quo, and see the citizens of nations that engage in party politics as somewhat dull witted and uncultured. Though there are many religions in Ieperithem, Protestant Christians of various denominations make up a plurality. Its national animal is the Bald Eagle, the same animal chosen by its predecessor government.

The four branches of the Ieperitic military constitute a large and exceedingly well funded fighting force, built around force projection and 'shock and awe' tactics. While often attempting to resolve conflicts peaceably, gunship diplomacy is a major part of the nation's foreign policy, especially with regard to nations that the leadership views as 'effete', 'uppity', or otherwise unworthy of respect.
