The Holy Empire of Jumala is a huge, environmentally stunning nation, renowned for its complete absence of social welfare. Its hard-nosed, cynical population of 929 million have some civil rights, but not too many, enjoy the freedom to spend their money however they like, to a point, and take part in free and open elections, although not too often.
It is difficult to tell where the omnipresent government stops and the rest of society begins, but it concentrates mainly on Law & Order, although Defence and Education are secondary priorities. Citizens pay a flat income tax of 43%. A large private sector is dominated by the Arms Manufacturing industry.
People have to sneak out of the country in order to have sex, citizens receive notices of disenfranchisement along with their parking tickets, major cities are suffering under water rationing, and Jumala's airwaves are dominated by corporate-backed commercial radio. Crime -- especially youth-related -- is totally unknown, thanks to the all-pervasive police force. Jumala's national animal is the eagle, which soars majestically through the nation's famously clear skies, and its currency is the Elie.
