The Kingdom of Saint Isobel is a nation located in the Honourable Guild of Nations.
It is a constitutional monarchy with a Queen and a government.
History
Saint Isobel was founded by a group of French missionaries who settled on a large set of islands in the South Atlantic Ocean. Their leader, Laurence Marnier, became the King of the new Holy Kingdom and his wife, Marion became Queen.
The rest of the missionaries set out to form a government and seek people from all over France, the Netherlands, Britain and Germany to become citizens of their new Kingdom.
Saint Isobel has since grown and the same royal line persists today. The present Queen, Elizabeth II is a granddaughter of Laurence I.
Government
The system that is currently in use is Constitutional Monarchy, similar to that of the United Kingdom. The Sovereign is the Head of State, currently Queen Elizabeth II.
There are two governmental houses, The House of Nobles (Upper) and The House of Citizens (Lower). The head of the House of Citizens is the Prime Minister, currently Léon Petitlou.
There are two main political parties: Monarchists, led by Louis Mayeret and the Reformists, led by Prime Minister Petitlou.
Royal Family
The Royal Family of Saint Isobel perform ceremonial duties, including opening state functions, attending parties and galas and supporting charities.
Her Majesty The Queen has the power to veto any law with power of Royal Assent.
The Queen is the Head of State and is Head of the Royal Family. Her husband, Prince Pierre, is second-in-command to the Queen in Royal Affairs. They have one son, Frédéric, The Crown Prince.
