The People's Nation of Apostoli consists of a single, long major island, surrounded by smaller islands in the Northern Atlantic Ocean, with a moderate sized island touching the equator. The main island, Chirikov Island, is 1,974 kilometers long with an average width of 251 kilometers, and holds most of the population. Chirikov island harbors 53 million citizens, most living in the Federal District of Tesla, with other significant cities being Gagarin City, Diogenesburg, and Flemingrad. However, the highest populated city is Braun Bay housing 6.5 million citizens due to its advanced infrastructure, world class university, and abundance of jobs.
The first recorded discovery of Chirikov Island was by an Empire of Covenant explorer in 577 BC. From then, the island was used as a supply station by explorers or travellers on the way to the southern Covenant region. Eventually, the supply stop became a permanent settlement, and a colony of the Empire of Covenant. After the fall of the Covenant Empire, the island became a semi-organized settlement, ruled by a council of nine descendants of the explorers who explored the island, called the Union of Explorers. In the following centuries, the council members' families slowly became like royalty, and, following a conflict, split into the Nine Kingdoms of Atlantia. Apostoli would split and unify several more times until the Second Great Unification, which is still in effect today.
Scholars and innovators have been attracted to The People's Nation of Apostoli for its prestigious National University of Socrates, and more recently the Von Braun Polytechnic Institute, making the The People's Nation of Apostoli's population one of the most educated in the world. With this population, The People's Nation of Apostoli is one of the most advanced nations in the fields of nanotechnology, aerospace, and neuroscience. The entire nation has completely removed all carbon emissions using nuclear power plants, wind farms, and the Nikola OMF transmitting station in geosynchronous orbit.

Etymology
'Apostoli' was chosen as a name in the early 1880s, due to how common it was for Apostolians of the time to travel the world, trying to spread communism to other nations. The name first caught on in Greece, where modern development was beginning and economic crisis was looming, making it one of the primary targets for these 'missionaries' or 'Ierapóstolos,' later shortened to 'Apostoli.'
History
Discovery
In 577 BC, the Tarperti explorer Volker Littauer set out to find a suitable location to use as a supply stop for others trying to reach the seemingly infinite continent of Africa, or the southern Covenant region. He sailed for 3 weeks before seeing an island which is now known as Littauer Island. From this island, he sailed further west and found more, smaller, islands until finally landing on Chirikov island, then called 'Kein Ende' island, the largest of the islands in the archipelago he called 'Atlantischland.'
The Covenant Empire
The legend of Atlantis lured explorers from all over the world to Chirikov, causing the archipelago to become populated with merchants selling supplies to these explorers. Due to this rapid population growth, the Covenant Empire recognized Atlantischland as a colony. Most of Chirikov's exploration can be credited to eight explorers, who were; Grant Madison, Thomas Frederick, Vladimir Bouras, John Cater, Sir Sigehere of Nanscot, Mozhayev Pavel, Harrison Griffiths, and Kulagin Tzar.
