Nikolas VI, Emperor of Diadochia

Nikolas VI of Diadochia (full name: Nikolas Andrew Constantine Eric Alexander George Demetrius, born 19 September 1956) is the reigning Emperor of Diadochia. On 21 December 1964, he succeeded his grandfather Manuel IX. He is the eldest son of Prince Eric Alexander and Princess Amelia of Euphrania. Besides being Emperor of Diadochia, the Diadochian monarch simultaneously rules over New Aígyptos, Persica, Thalássa, Vóreia, Dalmatia, Odrysia-Thrace, Aquitania, Iberia, Magaria, Amnion, Kolchida, Saramatia, Dacia, Moesia, Illyría, Pannonia, Atlantida, Vlachiá, Macedonia, Raetia, Cyrenaica, and various other kingdoms, principalities, and states using a host of titles and styles for each.

Early Life

Prince Nikolas was born in 19 September 1956 at Komnenos Castle, Diadochia. He was christened at the Hormisdas Imperial Palace Chapel on 12 December 1956 by the Archbishop of Alexandretta. His Godparents were the Emperor and Empress of Cranaeia. His father, Prince Eric Alexander, Byzantinóu of Diadochia, was killed in an airplane crash on 22 February 1962. Prince Nikolas was only six years old. Tragedy struck again when just two years later his grandfather, Emperor Manuel IX died on 21 December 1964, and Nikolas immediately ascended to the imperial throne as Nikolas VI at the tender age of eight.


Reign

Regency and education

From the start of his reign in 1964, until he turned seventeen in 1973 the country was ruled by a regency council, while he was allowed to grow up in peace. Nikolas VI was educated privately by tutors and he completed academic studies in history, sociology, political science, tax law, and economics. when he reached the age of sixteen he completed two and a half years of education in the Imperial Diadochian Army, the Imperial and Royal Navy, and the Imperial and Royal Air Force.

To prepare him for his central role in the governing of the Diadochian Empire, Nikolas VI followed a broad program of studies on the court system, social organizations and institutions, trade unions, and employers' associations. In addition, he closely studied the affairs of Parliament, the Government, and Diadochian Foreign Office. At the age of seventeen in 1973, Nikolas VI came of age and a year later he was crowned at the Koimíseos Cathedral in Alexandretta.

Official Duties

Emperor Nikolas VI is a well known monarchist and a firm supporter of the divine right of monarchs, a position held by many of his ancestors. He has because of these beliefs, strongly opposed constitutional restraints placed on his position, as Emperor. Early on in his reign, Emperor Nikolas VI, took Emperor George VII of Diadochia has a model. In the early years of his personal rule, the Emperor main interactions with Parliament were mainly confrontational. Emperor Nikolas VI, has over the past few years however, re-evaluated his early approach to government, and has in the past few years of his reign has left much of the day to day governing of the nation to Parliament and his Prime Ministers. The Emperor is in no way a crowned figurehead monarch but he tends away from absolutism,

Personality

Emperor Nikolas VI is well liked by his subjects, both noble and peasant alike. held to strict principals of duty and was devoted to his country and all of his people. Nikolas VI has been described has the embodiment of Komnenos-Palaiologos values and ideals. Emperor Nikolas VI is rigidly formal and steadfast to his beliefs and ideals, his manners are impeccable and superb. Despite his superb and impeccable manners, the Emperor has a temper that is easily provoked by those who he holds to high standards.

Marriage and family

The Emperor married Princess Victoria Skleraina in 1975. The imperial couple met at the Komnenos Castle during the Christmas holidays in 1970. The wedding was held on 17 June 1975 at the Atlantis Cathedral. The wedding was performed by the Patriarch of the Diadochian Orthodox Church. The wedding was preceded by a grand concert were the song "Empress" was performed for the very first time, as a tribute to Diadochia's future empress.
