The Nuskijani Army (NA) is the land-based component of the Nuskijani Armed Forces. It is responsible to the High King of Nuskijan, along with four other service branches. The current senior-most officer of the Nuskijani Army is General of the Army Bryan Rollins, a direct subordinate to the High King. General Rollins is also member of the six-man Committee of War, which is responsible for organization, preparation, use of forces, as well as planning and programming, equipment acquisitions, and conscription.

The Nuskijani Army is staffed with a mix of conscripts and full-time professional soldiers. The Nuskijani conscription system makes military service mandatory for all males upon completion of primary education for a one year term. Those who have reached the completion of their one year commitment in good standing are eligible for reenlistment to a minimum four year service term, which may be extended in two-year increments until mandatory retirement or discharge.

As of 2019, the Nuskijani Army employs xxx,xxx personnel, and xx,xxx personnel in reserve, comprised of discharged conscripts who volunteer for reserve status in exchange for a small stipend and mandatory monthly training.

In 2000, the Army issued the Code of the Nuskijani Soldier, which reads: "The Nuskijani Soldier will master his own strength, respect his opponent, and be careful to spare civilians and non-combatants. He obeys orders while respecting the Law of War and international conventions. He is aware of global societies and respects their differences."

History

Structure and organization

The Army is organized into corps, divisions, and regiments: a corps comprises two or more divisions, which are each comprised of a number of regiments. The Nuskijani Army is designed to be highly mobile, with corps capable of individual battlefield action. Two or more corps can be combined into a Field Army, and there are currently two field armies fully staffed. In addition, the Army maintains five independent regiments, known as brigades, which are under the command of the General of the Army and can be attached at the corps level to support battlefield action or as an independent maneuver element.
