The city of Olympias is the business centre and the largest city in Diadochia. It is also one of the oldest, being founded in 2880 BC, exactly 300 years before the first Diadochian-Atlantean Emperor Kronos I took the throne of Diadochia in 2580 BC. It is Diadochia's major port, and is the main port of entry for most immigrants entering Diadochia. Olympias contains one of the world's largest natural harbors. Olympias exerts a significant impact upon world commerce, finance, media, art, fashion, research, technology, education, and entertainment, especially in Diadochia. The city is home to the Olympias Stock Exchange and the University of Olympias.

History

The city of Olympias is over four thousand years old. However when tourists visit the city they are advised to visit the old city if they wish to see the ancient city, but if they wish to see modern city they are directed elsewhere.

Economy and business

Olympias is a global hub of international business and commerce. The city is the headquarters of countless businesses and companies, that are widely respected throughout Pandos. The city of Olympias is a major center for banking and finance, retailing, world trade, transportation, tourism, real estate, mass media, theater, fashion, and the arts in Diadochia. Many major corporations, both domestic and foreign are headquartered in the city.

Ermis Avenue

Olympias's most important economic sector lies in its role as the headquarters for much of the Diadochian financial industry, metonymously known as Wall Street. A role Ermis Avenue shares with its counterpart in Atlantis, known as Stadiou Street

Parisío̱n is the largest office market in the Diadochia, while Middle Parisío̱n is the largest central business district in the nation. Lower Parisío̱n is the third largest central business district in Diadochia (Atlantis' Stadiou Street is the second largest) and is home to the Olympias Stock Exchange, on Ermis Avenue. Street, which is also the largest stock exchange in Diadochia.


Media and entertainment

Olympias is a prominent location for the Diadochian entertainment industry, with many films, television series, books, and other media being set there. As of 2013, Olympias was the second largest center for film and television production in Diadochia (after Athenais), employing 200,000 individuals.

Olympias is additionally a center for the advertising, music, newspaper, and book publishing industries and is also the largest media market in Diadochia. Some of the city's media conglomerates include the Zorbas Corporation, The Diadochia Times Company, Ouranos Pictures, the Kaisaris Corporation, and Olympus Motion Pictures Group. Two of the "Big three" record labels of Diadochia' headquarters are in Olympias: Spyridis Music Entertainment and Zorbas Music Group. Ouranos Music Group also has offices in Olympias.

More than 30- newspapers and 640 magazines have an office in the city. The city is the home of the Olympias Times, owned by the same family that owns the Atlantis Times. Major tabloid newspapers in the city include: The The Diadochian Sun, The Banner, and Daily Private Lives; all of which have offices in Atlantis.

The Diadochian television industry has largely developed in Olympias and is a significant employer in the Olympias city area. The four major Diadochian broadcast networks are all headquartered in Olympias: Apollo, ARS, DRE, EERE. Many cable channels are based in the city as well, including Moúses, Apollo News, Spíti Kini̱matográfos, and Dionysia.

Education

The city of Olympias is home to the University of Olympias, one of the oldest and most prestigious universities in Diadochia. There are over 600 other educational institutions in the city. The city is home to the Olympias Library, one of the largest in Diadochia.

Culture

Parks and gardens

Olympias today has more than 300 municipal parks and gardens, covering more than three thousand hectares and containing more than 280,000 trees.

Fashion

Olympias is a global hub of fashion, similar to Atlantis. It ranks alongside Atlantis, and other cities of Pandos as a major centre for the fashion industry. Olympias, just like Atlantis is noted for its haute couture fashion. The twice-yearly [[Olympias Fashion Week, an apparel trade show, is one of the most important events on the fashion calendar in Pandos and attracts people from all around the world.

Sports

Olympias' most popular sport clubs are the association football club Apollon F.C. and the rugby union team Olympias Rugby. The city is the site of the Olympias Stadium, the second largest in the country.

Healthcare

Most health care and emergency medical service in the city of Olympias and its suburbs are provided by the Public Hospital of Olympias, a public hospital system that employs more than 150,000 people (including practitioners, support personnel, and administrators) in 50 hospitals. It is the second largest hospital system in Diadochia. It provides health care, teaching, research, prevention, education and emergency medical service in 52 branches of medicine. It employs more than 150,000 people (including 25,800 physicians) in 50 hospitals and receives more than 8.5 million annual patient visits.

Transportation

The Mass transit in Olympias that runs 24 hours a day, is the most complex and extensive in Diadochia. The iconic Olympias Metro system is the busiest in Diadochia, and one of the busiest in all of Pandos, while Megalo Oympias Terminal, is one of the largest railway stations in Pandos by number of platforms.
