The People's Republic of Cape Erindoon, often referred to as Cape Erindoon, is a Unitary Dominant-Party Presidential Republic located in Southeastern Gondwana. The capital and largest city is Latada and it is the main cultural and commercial centre.

History

Geography

The total land area of Cape Erindoon is XXXkm² of land including the natural, reclaimed and artificial land. The highest point in Cape Erindoon, Mt Lenin, which reaches a height of 1010 meters above sea level is located near the border of East Cerdani.

Climate & Weather

Cape Erindoon has a Mediterranean climate with semi-arid influence. Cape Erindoon is generally very sunny, receiving around 191 clear days annually. In the winter the temperature is mild with daily highs averaging around 20 °C (68 °F). Most of the yearly rainfall falls throughout winter. In the summer months, Cape Erindoon averages 32–33 °C (90–91 °F), with some days over 40 °C (104 °F).


Ecology

The ecosystems of Cape Erindoon are ecologically diverse, ranging from heavy forests to rolling grasslands and pristine beaches with numerous endemic and migratory species.

Government

The People's Republic of Cape Erindoon is a Presidential Republic where a President is elected via popular. The National People's Assembly is the unicameral legislature. Despite claiming to be pluralistic all elections since the introduction of the multi-party system have been won by a single party, PICE. Opposition parties have made claims of election fraud and denounced the results of elections and these claims are often supported by international observers. The recent referendum on national symbols was heavily criticised by the opposition and international observers after the current symbols were kept by a majority in the ratio of three to one (75.1% to 24.9%) despite less than 60% of the population voting on the issue.

The Armed Forces of Cape Erindoon are the professional military forces of the People's Republic of Cape Erindoon. All troops in the Armed Defense Forces are volunteer only and enlistees must be a citizen or permanent resident. Conscription is currently not enforced though it remains legal.

Economy

The economy of Cape Erindoon is officially described as "market socialism" by the government. Many smaller businesses and industries are privatised along with open acceptance of foreign investment while larger infrastructure and businesses remain under government control. Worker ownership has dropped heavily since economic reforms in the late 1990s however worker management continues to remain widespread in many business.

The civil aviation industry is quickly becoming a private realm in Cape Erindoon following the ending of socialism. Aircraft are often imported from the POE Cerdani Aircraft Works in East Cerdani with no local manufacturers. The national airline of Cape Erindoon is Erindoon Air.
