Eastern Islands of Dharma

Eastern Islands of Dharma are the remains of a once-vibrant and active roleplaying community, which were abandoned in 2012 by their founder Unibot, who went off in search of some good poontang -- or something. After Unibot was deleted, the region was raided by DEN. Dharma was notable for attracting many World Assembly authors, for much drama regarding internal elections and foreign military bases, and for a "hate-crush on Antarctic Oasis." DEN withdrew its forces some weeks after invading, and apparent AQI-lover Quelesh, the region's last remaining native, closed its borders.

Statistical trends

Eastern Islands Of Dharma is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation.

In Eastern Islands Of Dharma, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Denizens are flush with political freedom, although competing opinions often mean that political gridlock is the norm. Families in the region are so obsessed with the economy that the discussion of laffer curves and supply-side reforms over dinner is a regular occurrence in member nations. Income taxes are unheard of amongst the denizens of the region. The region is a beacon of capitalism, with the public sector not existing in any meaningful way in constituent economies. National governments within the region are more concerned with corporate welfare than the welfare of ordinary citizens, with commerce budgets accounting for an average of 51% of public expenditure.

Eastern Islands Of Dharma values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region is a lawless wasteland, nations regularly being the subject of documentaries by brave filmmakers. Governments make no provision for law and order. Nations within the region are forced to use soft fruit and harsh language in the field of battle, with no government funds being set aside for defense. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 6% of total government budgets.

Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Eastern Islands Of Dharma. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 3% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. No welfare is provided in the region. Those unlucky enough to fall into unemployment are forgotten and abandoned. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.

In Eastern Islands Of Dharma, Social inequality is total, with wealth being held by a tiny fraction of the region's populace. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
