Golden Triangle is a medium-sized region, with a thriving community of 14 nations and only 2 World Assembly Members.
The straight-backed, broad-smiling populace of Golden Triangle eagerly dismissed concerns of oppression. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. Economies in the region tend to be stronger than average. Inhabitants rarely are visited by the tax collector, and the region boasts a paltry median tax rate of 9%. The economies of nations in the region tend to be dominated by the private sector, with on average only 3% of the economy comprising the public sector. Commerce is low priority for governments, accounting for an average of 2% of public expenditure, although commerce is generally seen as a source of tax revenue.
Golden Triangle does not prioritize education in any meaningful way. The region's law enforcement is arguably too well-equipped and overzealous, arresting citizens who dare to commit the most minor of infractions. Defense is a major priority for governments within the region, with a large chunk of government budgets being devoted to it. Due to the lack of any Public transport, streets are packed with cars, bikes, and assorted noisy vehicles.
Nobody really knows about the state of administration in Golden Triangle. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Some government provision is made for healthcare, but at an average of only 4% the provision for healthcare in the region is paltry. No welfare is provided in the region. Those unlucky enough to fall into unemployment are forgotten and abandoned. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
In Golden Triangle, Social inequality is total, with wealth being held by a tiny fraction of the region's populace. Natural environments are quite bad, although some measures have been undertaken to ensure that the environment is protected.
