The Continent Of ReC is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation.
Throughout The Continent Of ReC civil rights are held dearly by all. Denizens are flush with political freedom, although competing opinions often mean that political gridlock is the norm. It’s the economy, stupid... and in this region, it’s massive. Inhabitants rarely are visited by the tax collector, and the region boasts a paltry median tax rate of 8%. The region is a beacon of capitalism, with the public sector not existing in any meaningful way in constituent economies. Commerce is a major priority of national governments within the region, most of whom are trading nations, as is evidenced by the fact that commerce budgets account for an average of 20% of public expenditure in the region.
The Continent Of ReC values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. The region's law enforcement officials try hard to combat a relatively high level of crime, but are hampered by a lack of funding. Denizens have very well-funded, well equipped defense forces. Public transport is a popular mode of transport in the region, receiving on average of 9% of total government budgets.
Nobody really knows about the state of administration in The Continent Of ReC. Observers asked for information, but found nobody was available to take calls. Governments bestow their healthcare departments with a gargantuan amount of funding, with an average of 15% of government budgets across the region being heaped on to healthcare. No welfare is provided in the region. Those unlucky enough to fall into unemployment are forgotten and abandoned. Governments in the region are avowedly atheist - no public funds are allocated to spirituality.
In The Continent Of ReC, Social inequality is total, with wealth being held by a tiny fraction of the region's populace. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
