The Office of the Speaker of the European Council is the highest office in the European Council. It is elected on an eighteen-month term by the members of the European Council. The Speaker is tasked with organising Council sessions and moderating debates as well as ammendment and voting procedures.
As of August 2014, two men have served as Speaker.
