The UCR Winter Games I formally known as The Winter Games of The Union of Confederate Regions was held between the days, December 14 to December 28. The Winter Games is a large multi sport event that happens once per year. This is the second biggest event that this region has ever hosted, the first being the Summer Games of The UCR. This year it took place in Eaux, The Grand British Kingdom of Britonisea. One of the first events that took place were Alpine Skiing, both men and women's Downhill Runs 1-3 at The Eaux Resort, North Eaux City. Since then, the games have been carefully constructed. After a bidding process, Britonisea has been building events up that is fit to host yet another Regional Olympic Games.

It was going to be hard to host these games during the Christmas period but Britonisea still sent forward a bid that was supposed to be between December 15 and December 23 but realistically, that was not going to happen so they put it forward a few days executing December 24,25 and 26. The Closing Ceremony is due to be hosted on 29th of December or if push comes to shove, it will be hosted on the countdown to New Years Day.

Bidding Process

There were two bidding processes. The first one was to put a Britonisea city forward and the second was to announce the winner overall.

The Bidding process took place in Doportedas City, The Grand British Kingdom of Britonisea for it's first Olympic Bidding. The Bidding process didn't take too long as there was only one bidder.

This officially proved that Britonisea was fit to host, Eaux board said they already have all of the venues but they just needed to make it look colourful.

The Facilities and Stadiums

This information has been taken from the bid from Britonisea. This was the longest bit of the bid.

The Opening/Closing Ceremony

The Opening Ceremony of the Winter Games of The UCR will be held in Eaux Hall. Although this will not be used in the Games itself, it will hold the Opening and Closing Ceremonies. Eaux Hall is a massive stadium that holds a massive 77,000 people and recently, the Stadium has been under use as the World Cup friendlies are currently being held there. On online resources and an official survey on Eaux Hall’s website the rating of 4.6 which is great for a stadium. It is a new stadium, so that is a great rating for the first year. The Hall, which is not really a hall, is fitted with 2020 stadium lights, firework displays and state of the arts facility.

Events

Next we are going to The Eaux Skiing resort. At the bottom of the resort, about 2,000 people can seat there. This will be used for Alpine Skiing and Snowboarding. Right next to the Alpine Skiing resort, there will be a skeleton resort. The resort can hold up to 14,000 people and there are two tiers on what looks like a half-eaten stadium. On the other side of Eaux near the trunk of Eaux will be the snowboarding resort where ,of course, snowboarding will be taking place. Freestyle skating will happen in the Snowboarding Stadium.

Both Short Track speed skating and Figure Skating will be held in East Eaux where the temperature is not as hard as the north. It is indoor and it holds 35,000 people. It has three tiers as each tier holds approximately 11,333 people. This stadium is called Vhe Estadoyn de Skatz which translates to The Skate Stadium. All things skating, except Ice Hockey, will be held in this stadium. This stadium as built in the 20th century, in 1923 when Britonisea went through an industrialisation stage. This was the only Ice Stadium in the whole of the country until ice rinks and other major stadiums were built. This is still a greay stadium and the second biggest in capacity. Speed Skating is also held here. Short Track is in an area of the Speed Skating Area.

The Curling events will be held in The Britannual Curling Stadium. This is a quite petit stadium which only holds 2,000 people. It is not a major stadium as it only has a few lights. It does have 6 200” inch screens which broadcast the results of the curling event and other results of events. Curling will be the highlight of the games as we are trying to get the younger generation to get involved with Curling as it is the Winter National Sport.

Curling

We are not finished yet as the Bobsleighing will be held in the Uncle Bob’s Circuit which holds 12,000 people. It is an outdoor arena which is next to the Short Track Speeding Circuit. This is open all throughout the winter periods of November to February. If the games are held in Britonisea’s Eaux, for the week, it will be open for every single athlete to try out the fantastic sport!

Bobsleigh

Finally, the Ice Rink Arena. The Event, Ice Hockey, will be held in the Ice Rink Arena of Eaux Cavu. Ice Hockey is also a big part in Eaux Cavu because Eaux is has 45 different Ice Rink stadiums, 21 of which are underground and unnoticed. The Ice Hockey event will also be available for all the athletes to try out the sports and the venues. • Ice Hockey

Preparation

Ever since the Union elected Britonisea hosts of both the Summer and the Winter Games in one year, poster and fliers have been going up to advertise the two very important dates and also, they have been transport advertisement. The Transport for Eaux needed to be a bit updated as well because there needed to be a lot for the crowd of people that will be coming to Britonisea.

Legacy

After the games close on December 28, local youth clubs will open at these venues including the ones that was specifically open for the Games itself. A child, any child, will be allowed three attempts at winter sports and then after that, they will have to choose which sport they would like to pay a course for. The course wouldn't be a lot of money, at most 20 Britoes for a term (8 weeks). There will also be more opportunities for adults too. People who work in the public sector, which is 100% in Britonisea as sources say, will get a day trip to either Ice Hockey, bobsleigh or Skeleton. Here they will have a chance to either watch the sport and/or participate in it. This won't just be in Eaux but it will also be available in cities, Boschke, Quickenden and Loueske as leading winter cities.

Future

The Olympic Council for Britonisea, now being abolished and being the UCROA, The UCR Olympic Association say that Britonisea shouldn't host the next games because other nations should have a chance to bid a successful bid. If Britonisea would like to help, then that would be a big step in to a bright future for the UCR's Sporting future.
