Thorsten Lothar Thueringen (4 December 1858 – missing in action 30 September 1913) was a Grand Admiral in the Navy of Rotgeheim and the commander of the failed expedition to the off-world colony of New Rotgeheim.
He was responsible for heading the first colonization attempt undertaken by Rotgeheim. In early August of 1913 he departed Rotgeheim in the flagship of the expedition, the RGF Gargantuan, a part of the six-ship-strong excursion. Thueringen managed the expedition well until soldiers in the subterranean levels of the planetside military complex began to suffer from extreme dementia and outbursts of anger. His last communiqué to Rotgeheiman forces outside of the New Rotgeheim area was on 29 September, when he transmitted to the Rotgeheim Navy High Command (Oberkommando der Kriegsmarine) that the expedition was in extreme danger of complete failure. All other communication with the colony itself ceased the next day, and Navy High Command announced that all members of the New Rotgeheim expedition were officially missing in action.
Thueringen was pronounced dead in absentia on 22 February 1914.
