The Zycannes are the highest and most extensive mountain range system that lies entirely in Aurora, across seven different countries: Axdel, Staynes, South Staynes, Xagrurg, Ethalria and Caltharus. The mountains were formed over tens of millions of years as the Packilvanian and Auroran tectonic plates collided. Extreme shortening caused by the event resulted in marine sedimentary rocks rising by thrusting and folding into high mountain peaks such as Mount Kersivius and the Hvítur Fjall. Mount Kersivius spans the Staynish-Caltharusian border, and at 7,405 m (24,294 ft) is the highest mountain in the Zycannes. The mountain range contains about six hundred peaks higher than 4000 metres (just over 13,000 feet).

The altitude and size of the range affects the climate in Aurora; without the mountain range, the entire of South Staynes would be desert.
