Carcossia (/kɑːrˈkʒə/; Carcossian pronunciation: /kaɾˈkusja/), officially the Most Serene Carcossian Republic (Carcossian: Sèreníssima Reppública Carcossiana, pronounced /saɾeˈnisima ɾeˈpyvliɡa kaɾkuˈsjana/), is a sovereign state consisting of the northernmost reaches of the continent of Foringana in Atlantian Oceania, located north of Pacitalia, east of Falcania and south of Paripana.

Modern Carcossia operates as a consensual and consociational democracy with a de facto federal structure under the state of autonomies. The Carcossian economy is generally described as a social market, with an entrenched tradition of tripartism and a policy known as the merchant state.

Etymology

The etymology of the name Carcossia is disputed, though it is universally agreed that the country known by the name is named after the Carcossian Sea to the west of Foringana.
