Avgoustos: (Αύγουστος - Augustus) Head of State, responsible for the Armed Forces, signing international treaties and national laws and overseeing elections and referenda. He can refuse to sign laws, but if a law is voted by parliament twice the Avgoustos has to approve it. He may dissolve parliament leading to immediate elections if he deems it necessary to protect Caria's Democracy but if the new parliament elects the same Exechon Ypatos he will then have to resign. He is elected by the Carian parliament, every 5 years.
Exechon Ypatos: (Εξέχων Ύπατος - Eminent Consul) Head of Government. Has all executive power the Avgoustos does not, on a federal level. He is chosen by the Parliament and ceremonially appointed by the Avgoustos. The Avgoustos and Exechon Ypatos have to cooperate and compromise in a fine balance between the Head of State and Head of Government, based on mutual trust. Has a term of 3 years.
Ten Nomarchs: (Δέκα Νομάρχες - Deka Nomarches) Act as semi-autonomous Heads of Government of each Nomόs, elected by their people every 3 years.
Vouli of the Carians: (Βουλή των Καρών - Vouli ton Karon - Parliament/Will/Assembly of the Carians) Prepares laws for the referenda, elected every 3 years. It has two chambers, the Senate and the National Assembly. Also organizes the referenda in which the Carian people directly vote on the laws, previously processed by the Vouli.
