Flandremonde, officially the Grand Duchy of Flandremonde (GDF; Grand-Duché de Flandremonde). The name Flandremonde is derived from the name of the ruler, Flandre, and a simple French word for kingdom, monde. The capital and largest city is Lävatein. Flandremonde is a stratovolcanic archipelago of 34 islands. The three largest islands are Ecarlate, Meirin, and Sakuyoi, which together comprise about eighty percent of Flandremonde's land area. Due to its location in the Océan du Diable, Flandremonde suffers from almost impossible weather and sea conditions surrounding it, forming effectively a natural cordon.

Foreign Relations and Military

The Force de Défense Royale Écarlate (Royal Scarlet Defense Force) are the military and paramilitary forces of Flandremonde, under the Mistress as supreme commander. They consist of the Écarlate Royale Gendarmerie (Royal Scarlet Gendarmerie), Gendarmerie Royale Navale Écarlate (Royal Scarlet Naval Gendarmerie), and the fledgling Garde Royale De L'air Écarlate (Royal Scarlet Air Guard). While administratively a part of the Royal Armed Forces, and therefore under the purview of the Royal Defense Ministry, the Gendarmerie is operationally under the direct leadership of the Mistress.
