I Left

I Left is a minuscule region, inhabited by a sole nation.

In I Left, denizens enjoy their civil rights, although not too much, or too freely. Nations in the region are considered developing democracies, with some political freedoms afforded to denizens. It’s the economy, stupid... and in this region, it’s massive. Inhabitants of the region ultimately pay most of their earnings to the government, as the median tax rate is 96%, or more! The region is a workers' paradise, as the governments of the region control nearly all of the economic output. Commerce is a major priority of national governments within the region, most of whom are trading nations, as is evidenced by the fact that commerce budgets account for an average of 17% of public expenditure in the region.

I Left values education extremely highly, and denizens compete for the largest number of university degrees and sprawling book collections. Crime is low: the region enjoys well-equipped and well-funded police forces, coupled with efficient but fair judicial systems. Defense is an overarching priority for governments within the region. One might suggest they are compensating for something. Public transport is an afterthought, with only 2% of total government budgets in the region being devoted to it.

Governments in I Left communicate very well amongst themselves, with administration departments working smoothly, with 6% on average of government budgets being devoted to Administration. Governments generally endow their healthcare departments with a large amount of funding, with an average of 6% of government budgets across the region being devoted to healthcare. Welfare in the region is minimal, with only a small amount of expenditure being devoted to spending on social security. Spirituality is an obsession of governments in the region, with a relatively very high average of 6% of government budgets being devoted to Spirituality.

Social inequality is a major problem within I Left, although some effort has been made to correct the problem. The landscapes of the region are no longer recognizable as such, the atmosphere being unbreathable and the only jungles being made of concrete.
