The Auroran Imperial War, also known as The Imperial War of Aurora and The Great Auroran War, is a war that involved the majority of the continent of Aurora. The primary nations involved were The Morstaybishlian Empire, Xagrurg, Norograd, Ethalria, and Kostuvastan. The war lasted from January 17, 1970 to July 23, 1975.

Lead-up to the War

Ethalrian propaganda rose to new heights, peaking average hate crimes against the Xagrurgian and Morstaybishlian populace. Over time, an authoritarian matriarch assumed power in Ethalria, and in an attempt to reclaim previous Ethalrian land, began a military takeover on the southern Caltharusian border. The long-time enemy of Ethalria, Xagrurg, was also attacked by Ethalria. These two attacks attracted the attention of the Morstaybishlians, starting the Auroran Imperial War.

1970 (Days 1-348)

Jan. 17-24: The War begins after Ethalria reclaimed land in the country of Caltharus (part of the Morstaybishlian Empire), around the lake where the Ethalrian-Caltharus border exists today. Ethalrian forces illegally cross the DMZ between it and Xagrurg and Kostoria-Obertonia.

Days 9-53: The Empire intercepts Ethalrian forces. The Ethalrian forces open fire on the empirical interceptors. This leads to greater tensions in the war. (Days 13-14: King Galfridus Velor Constantine demands answers; none received)

Day 54: Empire forced to retreat from their formerly reclaimed land.

Days 55-130: A Ceasefire is established. The opposing forces, regardless of the ceasefire, continue to build up their armies. Blueacia declares it independency from Staynes at day 68 due a referendum to not join the war.

Day 114: Norograd becomes independent from the Empire under Keit Narvga after an armed revolt.

Day 122: Kostuvastan declares war on Ethalria after Ethalrian forces fail to attempt to take control of southern Kostuv Territory.

Days 131-178: The Norogradian state of Emberwood becomes independent from Norograd due to Norograd leaving the the Empire. Norograd then joins Ethalria, Noro-Ethal Allies formed.

Days 155-248: Empire forces invade the Ethalrian City of Rorikton. The city was taken control of on day 248.

Days 146-348: Kostuv forces invade eastern Ethalria, making their way towards the capital of Rivendale.

1971 (Days 349-713)

Days 349-362: The battle of Rivendale takes place, with Kostuv forces taking control of most of Rivendale from day 358-360. Over 80% of Ethalrian forces were redirected to retake the city from Kostuvastan, and the city was taken back by Ethalrians on day 362.

Days 362-447: A ceasefire is again established.

Days 447-807: Ethal forces invade both Omsk and Shagonar, taking control of the cities and surrounding territories.

Days 447-1106: Noro-Ethal forces invade Labius while Fort Staynes is attacked by Norograd, whom utilized air-strikes and large scale naval landings to do so. The Empire and Kostuv forces gather to defend Fort Staynes. The defense established by the Empire and Kostuvastan manage to repel an Ethalrian takeover for two years, but at the cost of thousands of casualties on both sides.

Days 458-706: Imperial Fandom pushes north towards Novosibirsk, taking serious casualties by Kostuv forces along the way.

1972 (Days 714-1079)

Days 447-1106: Noro-Ethal forces invade Labius while Fort Staynes is attacked by Norograd, who utilizes air-strikes and large scale naval landings to do so. The Empire and Kostuv forces gather to defend Fort Staynes. The defense established by the Empire and Kostuvastan manage to repel an Ethalrian takeover for two years, but at the cost of thousands of casualties on both sides.

Days 724-888: Kostuv forces push through Ethal forces to retake Omsk, on day 751, and eventually Shagonar, on day 888.

Days 876-1100: The Battle for Novosibirsk takes place, with the battle ending in a stalemate with Fandomian forces taking control of the southeastern half of the city, and Kostuv forces keeping control of the rest of the city.

1973 (Days 1080-1444)

Days 1090-1143: Ethalrian forces swiftly invade Sani Bursil, surprising the inhabitants. The Royal family is enclosed within small pocket of Empire land, slowly losing ground.

Days 1097-1138: Kostuv forces slowly push Fandomian forces out of Novosibirsk, taking full control of the city on Day 1132.

Days 1140-1460: Ethalrian forces invade the city of Astrakhan, taking the city.

Days 1143-1564: The Empire manages to re-claim Sani Bursil. The total number of total casualties, although unknown, is estimated to be in the tens of millions. Sani Bursil is officially re-claimed on day 1564. Ethalrian forces lose ground tremendously. Ethalrian forces call for a retreat to Ethalria.

1974 (Days 1445-1809)

Days 1466-1564: Kostuv and Ethal forces battle in Astrakhan, eventually resulting in a stalemate, with occasional skirmishes occurring.

Days 1564-1660: Another ceasefire is established.

Days 1660-1749: Noro-Ethal forces engage a surprise attack on Lambertupol, yet the Lambertupol defense wards off the invaders.

Days 1658-1804: Ethal forces are slowly pushed out of Astrakhan.

Days 1750-1802: Realising the stalemate, Keit Narvga renounces Norograds alliance to Ethalria and recalls all Norogradian troops from the Ethalrian front on day 1792. Ethalrian forces retreat from days 1794 to 1802.

1975 (Days 1810-2012)

January 2, 1975: After an internal intelligence disaster, Norograd unleashes an unseen weapons technology on Ethalria, known as a Kinetic bombardment weapon.

Days 1812-2011: A Ceasefire is established.

Day 1964: The region known as South Staynes gains independence due to the Staynish Empire becoming economically and militarily weak, and could not maintain the region. Quartz fern Coast also begins its separation from Norograd during this period.

Days 1889-2011: A number of peace treaties and pacts are written between Auroran nations, all treaties and pacts signed in Weyrcliff, the capital of Dragonia.

Day 2012: The Auroran Imperial War ends with the Weyrcliff Pact, which states that no Auroran country can attack, invade, or occupy another Auroran country without consultation with other Auroran nations.
