Commencing from the conclusion of the 2024 General Election, most of the Third Kilkenny Ministry was sworn in on 19 August 2024. Home Secretary Florina Reyhan was sworn in three weeks later as the post was left vacant by the late Adrian Hemsley. The government, holds a 16-seat majority in the House of Commons with their opposition needing at least 55 additional votes to oppose any legislation in the House. The Ministry was dissolved following the December leadership contest in which incumbent Jacob Kilkenny did not run.
