The United States of Earth Humans (USEH), commonly known as the Earth Humans (E.H. or EH), is a country comprised of twelve states, a federal district, and thirteen major self-governing territories. The capital is The Citadel and the largest city is New York City. All of the states and territories, except the state of Mississippi, are comprised of former states of America that are located east of the Mississippi River.

Earth Humans emerged from the states east of the Mississippi River in the United States of America. With {George W. Bush losing the popular vote in 2000 but still winning the electoral vote, this caused upset amongst the citizens as they believed the system let them down. This led to a revolution which eventually turned into a War of Independence among almost half of America. The war was declared on November 8, 2000, the day after Bush was elected and ended when the United States of America officially recognized Earth Humans as their own country on November 8, 2018. The war lasted for exactly 18 years, making it the seventh longest War of Independence recorded in modern history.

On January 6, 2019, the constitution of the Earth Humans was ratified and implemented, which establishes the basis for federal law within the Earth Humans. On January 17, 2019, a special election for the Acting Government was held. Michael Saunders, who ran unopposed, won the election to become the Acting President, he chose Aubrey Watts as his Acting Vice President. The terms for the Acting Congress will end on January 3, 2020, while the President and Vice President's terms will end on January 21, 2020.

History

Earth Humans emerged from the states east of the Mississippi River in America. After an upset victory in the 2000 presidential election, an eighteen-year revolution and War of Independence rocked the nation. The leaders of the revolution claimed the reason for revolting was 'to establish a country without Capitalism and no Electoral College but keeping the ideals of freedom, justice, and democracy.

Within twenty-four hours of Bush winning the election, local militias formed across the eastern states of America. Over the next eighteen years, the leaders of the revolution created a temporary government and sent a declaration to the United States of America outlining why they were revolting and what measures would be taken to achieve Independence. In the declaration they claimed to have complete control of all the states east of the river, stating "These territories are now under the control of our temporary government, we hereby declare these territories are no longer bound to state or federal law, constitutional law, or any other type of governance from the United States of America. Our new government will protect these territories from any type of invasion from America or any other country at whatever costs necessary. We hope though, that this war is as peaceful as can be. We do not wish to act with malice but rather be acknowledged as an independent country so we can focus on creating a permanent government. Although we will keep fighting for independence regardless of how long it takes."

After a long battle, on November 8, 2018, the American government formally acknowledged Earth Humans as their own independent nation. The president of America met with the government officials of Earth Humans and signed a 100-year treaty stating the American and Earth Human government would not attack each other's nations but rather become sister countries, vowing to protect any enemies that try to invade. Also at the meeting, the American Government signed two acknowledgments; the first acknowledging Earth Humans as an independent country and the second acknowledging the twelve states, federal district, and fourteen territories. The second acknowledgment had one stipulation for the territories, the Earth Humans would have "ownership" of the territories but they must remain under American Federal law until the Earth Humans elected its first official president, meaning the territories could implement territorial laws but the laws must meet federal law requirements of America.

On January 17, 2019, Michael Saunders of the Liberal Party won the popular vote in a special election held to determine the "Acting Government" that would start to establish the country under federal and state laws.

Founders

John Saunders is widely regarded as the Father of Earth Humans, as he led the revolution. Johns wife, Lorna Deville, is usually referred to as the Mother of Earth Humans. Other founders include, Michael Saunders, John Saunders II, Jerry Williams, Keith Williams, Nicholas McGray, Aubrey Watts, Teri Fisher, Jaden Riley, Avery Conner, and Emerson Hayden. They referred to themselves publicly as Patriots of Democracy but in private they called themselves the 'Saunders 10'.

Future

In April of 2019, the primary race for the first official presidency will start. In July of 2019, the three major parties will announce their nominees for President, on the same day, the nominees will also name their running mate for Vice President. On November 7, 2019, the first General Election will be held, whichever candidate wins the popular vote will win the presidential race. In the unlikely case of a tie, the Senators will meet and each will have one vote, whichever nominee receives the majority wins the race. Again in the unlikely case of a tie in the Senate (due to an even number of senators a tie is possible), the Representatives will meet and each will have one vote, whichever nominee receives the majority wins the race. (Due to an odd number of Representatives a nominee will receive a majority vote thus concluding the race.)

Geography

The land area of the Earth Humans is made up of the states from the USA, that are located east of the Mississippi River including the federal district, Washington D.C. The area of the country is 959,078.34 square miles (2,483,888.34 km²), which makes it the tenth largest country by land size in the world.

Original States

The twelve original states are made up from the former states of; Maine, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia and the federal district, Washington D.C. With the implementation of the constitution, the states were renamed accordingly; Strongcrest, Newmoor, Cliffton, Greyston, Lochspell, Fairlyn, Greenview, North Dell, Redwell, South Dell, Aelhurst, Westerlight and the federal district, The Citadel.

Unincorporated Territories

There are thirteen unincorporated territories that are made up of the remaining states of America; Wisconsin, Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, Alabama, Georgia, Florida, North Carolina, South Carolina, West Virginia, Ohio, and Tennessee. These territories will be self-governed, acting as if they were their own "countries" until Congress officially gives them the status of Statehood.

Language

English (American English) is the official language of the United States. Other languages spoken in the Earth Humans are Spanish, Chinese, German, Portuguese, Polish, French, Amharic, Somali, Haitian, Korean, and Arabic.

Government

The United States of Earth Humans is a huge, safe nation, renowned for its state-planned economy, irreverence towards religion, and absence of drug laws. Humansians are fiercely patriotic and enjoy great social equality; they tend to view other, more capitalist countries as somewhat immoral and corrupt. The average income tax rate is 50.8% and even higher for the wealthy.

Type of government

The United States of Earth Humans government is classified as a federal presidential constitutional democratic socialist republic.

The federal system of governance is combining a general government (the federal government) with regional governments (the states). Meaning the federal government, i.e the legislative, judicial, and executive branches, have complete control over federal laws and how they are enacted. Federal law will always supersede over state law. Federalism is mainly described as a federation of states or unions.

The presidential system is a democratic and republican system of government where a head of government leads an executive branch that is separate from the legislative branch. This head of government is in most cases also the head of state, which is called president.

The constitutional system is "a complex of ideas, attitudes, and patterns of behavior elaborating the principle that the authority of government derives from and is limited by a body of fundamental law."

The democratic socialist system, which is also called democratic socialism, is a political philosophy that advocates political democracy alongside social ownership of the means of production with an emphasis on self-management of economic institutions within a market or some form of decentralized planned socialist economy.

A republic system is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter", not the private concern or property of the rulers. The primary positions of power within a republic are not inherited but are attained through democracy, oligarchy, or autocracy. It is a form of government under which the head of state is not a monarch.

The federal government is a federation of states, the presidential system is where the head of state is elected to the office, the constitutional system is what sets the basis of laws for governing, the democratic socialist system is the banning of the economical private industry, and the republic system ensures that the issues within the country are dealt with publicly rather than privately and that all citizens are represented fairly.

Parties

The Earth Humans operates under a three-party system. For elective offices at most levels, state-administered primary elections choose major party nominees for subsequent general elections. The three major parties are; the Liberal Party, founded in 2003, the Conservative Party, founded in 2006, and the Independent Party, founded in 2007. The President and Vice-President are elected through a direct popular vote, unlike the USA using an Electoral College. The liberals are considered far-left while the conservatives are considered center-left and the independents are described as meeting in the middle of the other two parties but mainly covering the whole leftist political spectrum.

Elections

There are five types of elections held in the Earth Humans. Any election that occurs when a presidential election is held is called a General election.

Local Elections

Local elections are biannual, annual, or both depending on the county. In local elections citizens vote for officials for their municipality and county officials.

State Elections

State elections are biennial. In state elections citizens vote for state representatives, senators, governors, and other officials. All seats in the State House are contested while roughly one-third of seats in the State Senate are contested.

Midterm Elections

Midterm elections are biennial; every other midterm election coincides with presidential elections. In Midterm elections, citizens vote for E.H. Representatives and Senators. All House seats are contested in midterms and roughly one-third of Senate seats are contested.

Presidential Elections

Presidential elections are quadrennial. In presidential elections, sometimes referred to as a National election; citizens vote in local, state, midterm, and federal elections.

Special Elections

Special elections are the fourth most common elections occurring whenever a government seat becomes vacant. Regardless if the seat is a state or federal seat, the governor of that state will pick a date for the election to occur and must be approved by that states Congress. Special elections are held only if the vacancy does not occur in the year that seat was to already be contested; if the vacancy occurs in an election year where that seat was to be contested, that seat shall remain vacant until the election is held that year.

Trivia

This country takes place in an alternate universe where the USA Military commissioned Nikola Tesla to build and create a modern digital computer in 1891 plus an interconnected network. Digital computers became available to the public in 1895 and the global internet became available to the public in 1900. Because of this the internet has become far more advanced by the year 2000 which allowed for the quick gathering of local militias to revolt against the USA.
