Imperial Regalia of Diadochia

The Imperial Regalia of Diadochia are the symbols of the Monarchy of Diadochia. They consist of various crowns, sceptres, orbs, swords, rings, spurs imperial vestments, mantles, dalmatic, armills, and the imperial robe, as well as several other objects connected with the Coronation of the Diadochian monarch.

Crowns

The Imperial Crown Regalia contains various crowns, some of which are used by every Sovereign, others were made personally for Sovereigns or for the Empress Consort.

  • St Alexios' Crown was made in 1618 for the coronation of Emperor Constantine V of Diadochia. The original crown was believed to have been worn by Emperor Alexios III of Diadochia for his Christmas coronation in 1118, later canonized a Saint. The Emperor Constantine V had the crown recreated after it had fallen into ruin. The Crown includes 444 precious stones. It is used through most of the coronation ceremony of Diadochia along with the more famous Imperial Crown of Diadochia. It has been noted by a number of Diadochian monarchs to be extremely heavy and difficult to wear.
  • Imperial Crown of Diadochia was made in 1762 by the crown jeweler Giannakos for the coronation of Empress Zoe II of Diadochia. The crown has been used at every subsequent coronation, along with the older Crown of St. Alexios. Along with the St. Alexios' Crown it has been noted by a number of Diadochian monarchs to be extremely heavy and difficult to wear.
  • Imperial State Crown was made in 1843 for Emperor George VII of Diadochia. The Crown includes many jewels: 2,968 diamonds, 285 pearls, 18 sapphires, 15 emeralds, and seven rubies. It is often worn after the conclusion of the Coronation ceremony if the Emperor chooses not to wear the Imperial Crown of Diadochia, which can be very heavy; the crown is always worn at the annual State Opening of Parliament, for which George VII first used it for.
  • Imperial State Diadem was made in 1820 and has only been worn by Empress Consorts.
  • Holy Crown of Magaria was made in the 10th century and his the coronation crown of the Kings of Magaria. The Emperor of Diadochia undergoes a separate cronation has King of Magaria
  • Crown of Moesia is worn by the Emperor s of Diadochia in connection with their role as King of Moesia and it is also used in the coronation of the Moesian monarch in Pella.
  • Crown of Sarmatia is worn by the Emperors of Diadochia in connection with their role as Kings of Sarmatia. The crown is worn in the coronation ceremony of Sarmatia.
  • Crown of Galicia is worn by the Emperors of Diadochia in connection with their role as Kings of Galicia

The orbs and sceptres

  • St Alexios' Sceptre was made in 1618 for the coronation of Emperor Constantine V of Diadochia. The Sceptre includes one of the largest diamonds in the world, Great Star of Thalássa, which weighs over 560 carats
  • Imperial State Orb was created in 1762 for the coronation of Empress Zoe II of Diadochia The Imperial State orb has a diamond belt and cross with huge sapphire in 200 carat. In total there are 1570 diamonds.
  • Imperial Sceptre was created in 1762 for the coronation of Empress Zoe II of Diadochia The Imperial sceptre has 216 diamonds.

Swords

Other items

  • Ivory Throne dates back to the 13th century and is made of wood faced with plates of ivory and walrus tusk. The Ivory throne has been renovated several times in its long history: worn pieces of bone were remade by local craftsmen; in 1843, on the occasion of the coronation of Emperor George VII of Diadochia, the throne was decorated with a gilded silver two-headed eagle.
  • Golden Throne made in the 16th century and presented to the Diadochian Emperor by the Shah of Persia. Giving it the name the Persian throne. In total the throne is adorned 565 rubies and pink tourmalines, 830 turquoises, 186 pearls and 900 halves of pearls.
  • Diamond Throne was made in 1533 for the coronation of Emperor Eric II of Diadochia. The throne is the most elaborate of the royal thrones in the Imperial Regalia.

The throne is made of sandalwood faced with golden and silver plates with foliate ornamentation. Its bottom is decorated with a bold carved pattern depicting a procession of elephants and drivers on their backs. The back of the throne is covered with black velvet and embroidered images of two genii supporting a crown over the inscription glorifying the Emperor and his power. The whole surface of the throne is faced with an intricate mosaic of turquoise and diamonds. In total throne has 976 diamonds and 1453 other gemstones.
