Laiatanese (Mahigian) is spoken natively by approximately 400 million people. With the inclusion of second-language speakers, the number of Laiatanese speakers is about 450 million. It is the official language of the military and economic alliance SITO.
It is written using the Latin alphabet. The language has 26 letters.
Laiatanese is a monocentric language, meaning there is only one standard version of the language. It is referred to as Standard Laiatanese. Originally, the Laiatanese language was known as Mahigian, the language used by the Mahigans during their conquests. Forcing the language upon the other tribes proved to cause issue, therefore the language officially became known as "Laiatanese" during the 1200s.
