Brief history and overview
Parties with representation
Currently, one party has dominated the political environment in Laiatan since 1996, maintaining a majority in the Federation Assembly as well as controlling the presidency. The party also controls a majority of upper and lower house seats within the oblasts, with a majority of governors also members of the party:
- Social Democratic Union, center-left: 33 Federal Council seats, 258 People's Council seats
