Lupines are a species of wolf-like humanoids who share both wolf and human-like characteristics. There are two "sub-species" of lupine, northern and southern, the only real differences between the two being the length of fur. Colors vary widely, with lighter colors being more common to northern lupines while the darker colors tend to occur with the southern lupines. The sub-species identification is largely artificial, created by the Kingdom of Volkia as a way to account for the different culture presented by northern lupines. The Volkian Federative Republic has the largest population of lupines in the world, and is largely considered to be the "homeland" for the species. It is the only majority lupine nation on Urth.
