Lysandus, officially the Kingdom of Lysandus (Lysandean: Royaume de Lysandus), is the second largest and second most populated nation in the Royal Peninsula. Lysandus is located in the western parte of the Peninsula, covering the coastal plains and lowlands associated with the valley of the rivers Comte and Parloys. It enjoys humid subtropical climate everywhere but in the northern reaches where the climate is more temperate, making it a prime destination for leisure tourism. Several areas of the lysandean coast like the Côte Royal near Port-au-Comte or the Côte de Angélique further east are world-renown for the quality of their beaches.
Etymology
Lysandus is likely based on an alteration of "Lys Andes" (modern form), or mountains of lys, a name that has been used to describe the region around Port-au-Comte and the King Mountains - the northern-most location of the country - since at least the time of the Holy Empire.
