Mahigian is spoken natively by approximately 80 million people. With the inclusion of second-language speakers, the number of Mahigian speakers is about 95 million. It is the official language of the military and economic alliance ITO.

It is written using the Latin alphabet. The language has 26 letters.

Mahigian is a monocentric language, meaning there is only one standard version of the language. It is referred to as Standard Mahigian.

Mahigian is the only official language of Laiatan, and is one of two official languages in Vulshain.
