Dasko, or officially The United Empire of Dasko is a nation centered around the Middle East; it borders Lolsonia and Slaveokia to the north, Portugie and Nubanie to the west, Pulsae to the east and Amesteri and Nandiname to the south. The total are of Dasko measures approximately 5,300,000 km² (2,070,137 sq mi²), this makes it the 2nd largest nation in the Adriatic Alliance. The population of Dasko is approximately 3.07 billion people, making it the most populous nation in the Adriatic Alliance and 40,036th most populous nation in the world. The complete Daskan state is divied into 'x' states.

The establishment of the United Empire was after Monarch Gustave I united warring nations togther in an unlikely meeting. The nations in the negotiations accepted the deal, after that, the nation was declared existent on September the 18th 2014 after long bureaucratic meetings. The nation was also declared as a constitutional monarchy with Gustave himself appointed as monarch. The National Legislature was established days after with the first democratic elections held on the 30th of September.

Soon after on October and November, a civil war broke out, with the forces of Gustave II and the republican forces. The causalities exceeded 3 million people after the Massacre of Safra Hill. The civil war ended with a republican victory and the ousting of the monarch Gustave II. A new Parliament was elected, with a minority government. A coup d'état occurred and ousted the Federalist minority government.

After a relatively violent history, the nation was able to preserve much of its cities and industries intact. Nowadays Dasko is a socialist state, with robust economy and is lead by the Book Publishing industry. The nation is visited by millions of tourists a year, this makes it an extremely popular tourist destination in the Adriatic Alliance. It heads the P-7, an international organization that consists of Dasko and its puppet nations, Nubanie, Portugie, The Picitsh, Nandiname, Amesteri and Pulsae. However, the currency exchange rates haven't been in favor of the Ikato, as its value continues to drop.

History

Early History

Dasko was founded on 2014 September 18th after Sr. Hamlock Gustave decided that it was time to end squabbles amongst tribesmen. Historians long believed that Gustave called a meeting with some the tribesmen before more tribesmen decided it was alright to join this newly created nation. But now, there is some evidence that states that Gustave murdered the tribesmen in the meeting, before stating that due to unfortunate circumstances, all the tribesmen had died before exiting the building. However, this version of events is unlikely due to its origins and the fact that there is also some evidence that the document was counterfeited. Gustave long with some tribesmen declared the new kingdom on the 18th of September, 2014. They claimed this would mark a new era of understanding and relationship with the tribes. Gustave proclaimed himself as monarch of Dasko on the 19th. The Parliament of Dasko was established on the 20th, with the first national elections held on the 23rd. The Federalist party won the elections and installed Leo Contie to become Prime Minister of Dasko. Leo Contie reformed the education, army, public transport and welfare system. He was proclaimed one of the greatest Prime Ministers in Daskan history.

Emperor Gustave II

On the 10th of October, on the same year, Emperor Gustave died. "His death was a tragedy" remarked the Arani Times. His funeral was held on the 11th, he was honored as 'the man who brought Dasko together'. His son Gustave II took power from his father. Being a young man, and not having any medical conditions, he was expected to serve the nation for several decades. But, in the early days of his reign his ordered all protests on ending hereditary monarchy to be quelled. The order wasn't a problem for many, as life for many Daskans continued as normal, Gustave II was still well liked, retaining a 70% approval rating. Days after the executive order, he dissolved Parliament; he stated that Parliament had found a corruption scandal, and he would like to investigate Parliament for a few days, before things would return to normal. However, when Parliament returned to power, a communist party had seized power, as part of the executive order from the Emperor. Leo Contie was charged with corruption and was sentenced to death. This took many people by surprise, why a well liked Prime Minister that had no problems before would be sentenced like this. This caused mass protests all over the nation, the protests called on Emperor Gustave II to step down and grant him amnesty. Emperor Gustave's response to all this was military force. Emperor Gustave II ordered the Parliament to be dissolved, as he would rule under martial law. This caused mass protests and mass killings as the nation broke down and entered civil war.

The First Daskan Civil War

The First Daskan Civil War started on October the 29th 2014, Emperor Gustave II was officially ousted as a rebel group rose, the Republican Dasko. Emperor Gustave's forces outnumbered the Republican forces by 50000:1. Unfortunately, Gustave's forces had low morale, and surrendered quickly to the rebels. Emperor Gustave II lost Arani, the national capital, in 3 days, after a tank battalion surrendered to the rebels. The war was quick, lasting a month. The Daskan army quickly switched allegiances and Emperor Gustave II was detained in Jeine. The remaining loyalists fled and eventually surrendered.
