The Republic of Noronica (also called Noronica, or T.R.N.) is a Dictatorship comprising of ten provinces and one major city province. The country is situated in the region of the Republic of Rome.
With an estimated land area of 36,930,832 square miles, and an estimated GDP of n210 trillion (as of 12/07/16), the Republic of Noronica is a very sizeable nation and has a vastly efficient economy. Due to a period of apartheid before Republic status, the ethnic diversity in Noronica is low, however, in recent wars with neighbouring countries, refugee numbers have grown. The geography and climate of the Republic of Noronica are extremely diverse with a vast mountain range spanning across the Province of Nolon, four main rivers running through the entire country, grand beaches and bays in the south and a rainforest in the centre of the country. Noronica is home to the nation's national animal, the Great White Shark. During the Great War of Noronica in 1982, a strain of 'land shark', (also known as Derius Nortum) was accidentally created during the creation of chemical weaponry. It was released on Great White Sharks in the sea in South Noronica during the Battle of Noronica Bay. The infected began getting less aggressive; they grew legs and grew smaller, eventually developing a domestic manner seen in animals such as farm cattle. There are still natural Great Whites in the south sea but Great White Sharks on land have become a national delicacy and pets.
The current Constitution of Noronica was written and implemented by the Founder and first Head of State, Overlord Bob, in 1991, which increases the powers of the Head of State and grants considerable powers to the nation's Government, located in the capital city of Nolon. The 'Republic of Noronica Rights Pact' was developed three months later, giving the civilians of Noronica many civil rights and come say in politics. However, Overlord Bob is officially recognised as a dictator and therefore retains most of the power for himself. Overlord Bob will serve as Head of State for the Republic until his death or abdication, whereupon his son will rise to the position of Head of State.
The Republic of Noronica is an MEDC and in recent years the Republic of Noronica's economy has blossomed, and now the economic powerhouse is lead by the Book Publishing industry, with major contributions from Trout Farming, Information Technology, and Tourism. The Government spends most of the national budget on Law & Order, Defense, and Education, claiming that these are the pillars that hold society together.
With a military and defense budget of n14.18 trillion (as of 12/07/16), the Republic of Noronica is able to project considerable power with its technically accomplished and well-funded; army, navy and air force. This budget has also allowed the construction of over 64 nuclear warheads and many other weapons of mass destruction including 8 hydrogen bombs. The Head of State, Overlord Bob, has the sole control over Nuclear strikes and has had to take the decision recently with the war between Noronica and Brazilistan where two nuclear missiles were fired.

Origin
On the 24th of November 1468, a small group of mercenaries happened upon a patch of land owned by a tribe beyond a vast mountain range and connected to two river mouths and the sea. Deciding to go against orders from their superiors, the group settled down on this land. After three months of construction from both groups, a settlement was erected. The country that had employed these mercenaries sent a small expeditionary force to find and retrieve them. The two forces met at the River Nolon where they fought briefly. The mercenaries won and captured the survivors of the expeditionary force, implementing them into the settlement. Soon, the settlement grew to several hundred strong. The leader of the mercenaries, 'Lutzak Ponchik' and the Tribe Elder made the decision to name their village, 'Nolon' after the 'River Nolon'. During the four years that followed, the village soon turned to town, then a city. Due to population numbers, new towns were erected around the city. The original country of the mercenaries sent a larger force, this time, seeing this rapidly growing settlement as a concern. A group of 1000 soldiers on horseback met a group of 3000 soldiers on foot. The Second Battle of Nolon occurred, seeing the defenders victorious again. 500 soldiers became prisoners and were again implemented into the city.
Geography
The Republic of Noronica is a vast and environmentally stunning nation, surrounded by mountains, vast plains, and the sea. The Resource-filled Mountain Range of Baeron sits above Nolon. Large mines cover them, but the range is still a very popular tourist spot, seeing many visit the immense peaks.
The Noronician Sea sitting below Noronica is a vast stretch of water that stops at Noronica's high cliffs and the Bay of Noronica. Here, a large group of Great Whites patrols the cliffs, because of this, large aquariums have been set up recently, allowing tourists to see, first hand, why Noronica reveres the great beast.
The Noronican Rainforest in the centre of the country contributes to Noronica's paper industry and it is seen as the 'lungs of Noronica'. It also contains some of the original tribe from the old land.
History
Early Years
Sixty years of growth followed, overseeing 10 new cities being built all over the vast land that had been previously unclaimed by Brazilistan and Bigtopia, the land's neighbours. In 1542, the land was officially recognized as 'Noronica'. The cities were unified under Nolon and a national army was forged. Seeing Brazilistan and Bigtopia as a threat, King Normyn II oversaw the construction of a wall surrounding Noronica's borders. It took 103 years to complete under the supervision of two kings, Normyn II and Tyrstan I. Once the wall was built, it was found that mines were running dry, due to the immense size of the wall. King Trystan sent miners and an expeditionary force into the northern mountains near Potania. They found more than merely stone; a vast amount of gold, diamond, and coal were found in the mountain range, amplifying the wealth of Noronica.
In 1698, Brazilistan sent their army in to invade Noronica. They were ill-prepared for the 12,000 soldiers that met their force outside the Brazilistinian city of Gwynon. A bloodbath ensued with victory seemingly unsure. With the strategic brilliance of King Trystan II, the battle ended with Noronica reigning supreme, sending the retreating force back into Gwynon. After a year of gaining reinforcements, the larger force of Noronica laid siege on Gwynon. 40,000 troops and 40 trebuchets sat outside the walls, battering the city continuously. After surrendering, the Queen of Brazilistan formed a peace treaty with King Trystan II, ending the Noro-Brazilistinian war. Gwynon formed under Noronican rule and the borders were expanded to the River Braz which connects Brazilistan and Bigtopia.
In 1883, Bigtopia attempted to invade but their force was struck with fever when they entered the Noronican Rainforest. The Noronican forces surrounded and killed every Bigtopian soldier, forcing the King of Bigtopia to end its invasion. Noronica was given some of its borders as compensation.
In 1921, Noronica began its own industrial revolution. Vast industry formed, rapidly increasing Noronica's economy. However, the Crisis of Smoke occurred. Pollution levels rose to extremely dangerous levels, forcing the Government to set up laws and regulations, preventing pollution levels from reaching a certain level.
The Great War of Noronica
In 1974, a strain of uranium was found in the mountain range above Nolon. Companies and the Government raced to claim the uranium. This caused a divide between the Government and the industry. Nuclear weapons were created and the Government became more power hungry and began executing its opponents. The people of Noronica were seen as slaves and were forced to work to death. Women and children were murdered if the men did not work hard enough. This caused a Civil War called the Great War of Noronica. The government began creating bioweapons and chemical weapons to fight the rebels, accidentally creating a virus that mutated Great White Sharks. In 1982, the weapons were used in the battle between warships in the Bay of Noronica in the south. Great White Sharks were mutated and some became domestic. During the last battle, the Third Battle of Noron, the rebels were led by Tytus Bob who obliterated Government forces and took over the Government. New laws were made and the 'Constitution of Noronica' was written. The leaders of the old Government were executed publically and the people grew to enjoy the rule of Tytus Bob. Noronica was coined, 'the Republic of Noronica' in 1991 and became a democratic republic for a while until Tytus Bob decided to reform the Government after seeing that the system was ineffective. He gave the citizens a chance to express their opinion and most did agree with his decision to become a Dictator. Under his rule, Overlord Bob took the country to new heights and entered it into the Republic of Rome.
Present Day
In December 2015, Noronica went to war with Brazilistan for the second time. Their President committed atrocities and attempted to invade Noronica by an assassination attempt against Overlord Bob. Overlord Bob made the decision to fire nuclear weapons, completely annihilating Brazilistan's Capital. A new Brazilistan has since formed but relations are frosty between both countries.
Government, elections and politics
Overview
As a Dictatorship, Overlord Bob is the Head of State and swore to stay for that role until his death. The law of succession makes it the eldest child who takes the 'Overlord' position. As it happens, Overlord Bob' eldest child is his son Trystine Bob, who was declared fit for rule after his eighteenth birthday. The law for succession makes it so that if the eldest child is not found worthy of rule after being tested, the next child in line would undergo the same tests. If all children of the ruler are unfit, the Overlord would choose a successor and a referendum would be held to see if the people find them acceptable.
The Overlord holds most power as detailed in the Constitution, but he/she has to have a government. The government of Noronica is situated within the country's capital; Nolon. They are responsible for; implementing law changes made by the Overlord, deciding if the next Overlord is fit to rule, administrative tasks, the country's infrastructure, and systems, electing the High Court members, and ensuring that everyone in Noronica has a life worth living. The government is led by a party system. Parties are elected in by the people of Noronica. Whichever party has the most votes has their leader become Prime Minister. Their job is to be the right-hand official of the Overlord and to ensure that the Overlord is doing their duties correctly. This also ensures that there is enough of a balance in power between the government and the Overlord. The government's place of operations is called the 'Hall of Commons'. It is a vast building given fortress status because of its immense stature and variety of defense systems. It is reviewed every month to test whether it is still safe to be inside. The hall is also home to Nolon's Police Headquarters, giving the two entities more protection and giving the government direct overview of Noronica's central police force.
The 'Round Table' is a tower in the centre of the Hall of Commons. This is where meetings between the country's figureheads take place. To be allowed entry, you must be a 'Ger'. A Ger is Noronica's highest award given to those who contribute the most to Noronica. The Prime Minister and Overlord are party to these meetings, but they are not awarded as they have the highest possible ranking anyway. These meetings allow the Overlord to gain insight into the general feeling of the nobility and it also allows the Overlord to be advised, as Gers double-up as advisors to the Overlord.
The High Court handles all criminal court proceedings if the crime is of an extreme nature. The Overlord proceeds over the court but does not have a lot of say unless the crime is worth their input. The Court is overseen by ten judges voted by the government and the jury, a randomly selected group of citizens with high enough IQ to sensibly make the decision. The Court doubles as a military tribunal as the military is highly valued by Noronica and any crime committed in it is taken with extreme care.
The election is an election for referendums or government party votes. A ballot station has been built in every region and they are big enough to hold the population of said region. Elections are private and each vote is transported to Nolon in a high-security vehicle with a military escort. Once the vote has been counted, the decision is put on live television where the candidates or referendum sides watch - along with the nation to see the decision. The Overlord may veto a referendum if it is deemed small. They may not veto a government election as that must be made democratically.
Parties and ideology
There are currently 3 main governmental parties; Liberternica, Conservatica and Orderrica. These main parties have different ideologies and are equally distributed upon the political spectrum. No government party may fit into the fascist sector or the communist sector for fear of revolution for the worse. Otherwise, the parties are free to be created. The Overlord must have no influence or bias towards any party, despite their feelings towards each party.
When a party is sworn in, their flag is put up around the Hall of Commons to show which party is in power. They must swear allegiance in the Republican Square in Nolon, where the people of Noronica and media watch. The party is then transported to the palace, where they swear their allegiance to the Overlord. The Prime Minister candidate then has a discussion with the Overlord for traditional benefit, but it has no relevance. Once the candidate walks through the palace gates into the square, where the people of Noronica can witness their new Prime Minister. The Overlord then makes a speech to conclude the event.
The ruling party has more seats in the main Hall of Commons, but other than that, each party has the freedom to debate in topics and freely vote.
