The Worker's Commonwealth of Britain (also called the Worker's Commonwealth, Britain, W.C., or W.C.B.) is a Dominant-Party Chartist Socialist Republic comprising 11 regions, three nations (two of which are regions also) and a number of Overseas Communes. The country is situated in the region of The Communist Bloc, occupying all of the British Isles other than Ireland.

The current Worker's Commonwealth Constitution was ratified by the Provisional Government and first President, William Lovett, in 1855, which limits the powers of the executive committee and grants considerable powers to the country's Congress, located in the capital city of London. The Worker's Commonwealth of Britain's People's Charter was ratified a month later, granting the civillians of the W.C. six unbreakable rights and and further 493 conditional rights ensuring Britain's commitment to equality. William Lovett would serve as President for the Worker's Commonwealth until his death in 1877. Since then there has been no President who has served the W.C. for longer than 10 years, as a result of the Constitutional Amendment Act of 1878.

The Worker's Commonwealth is a developed country and has the xxx largest economy in the the Communist Bloc region, and the xxx highest GDP per capita. Recent years has seen the W.C.B.'s large economy falter, and now the country is classed as economically "stuggling". The economy is now lead by the xxx industries. The Worker's Commonwealth is an influential leader xxx. The country is also seeking to expand its influence regionally and globally, and is an active member of the Commonwealth of Communist Nations, and is a regular voter on People's Council resolutions.

Politically, the Worker's Commonwealth of Britain People's Congress is dominated by the Communist Party of Britain, a far-left economic and social party who hold 43 seats in the Senate (out of a possible 75) and 569 seats in the United Assembly (out of 750). There is no opposition party to the Communists, who exist as the dominant party within an umbrella grouping of a number of far-left parties called the National Worker's Movement which is, incidentally, the only legal political front in the W.C..

With a military budget of bxxx (NS$xxx), Britain is able to project xxx power, and has a variety of technically accomplished, well-funded army, navy, air force and special operations divisions.

Etymology

The 18XX Constitution declared that the United Kingdom, as it was previously known, was now to become a Worker's Commonwealth, in which the state would ferment the conditions for the "general good". Furthermore the previous imperial territories were to become affiliated democratic republic's within an international organisation known as the Commonwealth of Communist Nations. The idea of a Worker's Commonwealth had permeated through the Charitist Movement since the publishing of the Communist Manifesto.
