The Smyth S3P is a Grasmeran semi-automatic handgun chambered for the 10mm Auto Cartridge. Designed in the early 2000's to compete in a Grasmeran Armed Forces acquisition competition, the S3P successfully beat out a modernized version of the East Systems SA2 to become the standard issue sidearm for the Grasmeran Armed Forces.

Design

Smyth S3P with optional accessories, including suppressor, laser aiming module and muzzle break.
The S3P features a polymer frame with a built-in Picatinny Rail for mounting accessories. The pistol also comes with easily removable grip panels to better accommodate smaller-handed shooters. Given the high-recoil nature of the 10mm auto round, the S3P is fitted with a proprietary magnetomechanical multi-spring operating rod to reduce recoil to levels associated with handguns chambered in 9mm Parabellum, and to allow faster follow up shots. This technology allowed the S3P to achieve lower felt recoils during testing than the heavier, 9mm chambered East Systems SA2. The double action, single action (DA/SA) model has no manual safety, instead featuring a frame-mounted, ambidextrous decocking lever, allowing the weapon to be safely deactivated and holstered. Trigger pull weight in double action is 9 lbs, while trigger pull weight in single action is 4.5 lbs.
