The Teekons are a lupine ethnic group historically native to central Laiatan and share a common history, ancestry, culture, and speak the Laiatanese language as their mother tongue.
roughly 54% of citizens identifying themselves as Teekon. Before the forced learning of the Mahigian language, the Teekon people spoke Teekonese.
With more than 33 million people identifying as Teekon, it is the second largest lupine ethnic group. It is believed that most of these people can speak Laiatanese either as a first or second language, totaling the number of speakers to be roughly 450 million people.
Mahitou is a huge part of Teekon life, as well as with the other tribes of Laiatan. Any lupine who did not follow Mahitou was frowned upon in Teekon society, and was viewed as a traitor. In modern times, it's far less likely you'll be shunned for following another religion or not having religion, though there is still certainly stigma for not.
