Paramedics in Laiatan

In the Laiatanese Federation, paramedics are paraprofessionals whose primary focus is to provide advanced emergency medical care for critical and emergency patients who access Emergency Medical Response (Ekstrennaya Meditsinskaya Pomoshch'; EMP). These professionals possesses the knowledge and skills necessary to provide patient care and transportation. Paramedics function as part of a comprehensive EMP response, under medical oversight.
Paramedics perform interventions with the basic and advanced equipment typically found on an ambulance. The paramedic is a link from the scene into the health care system. One of the eligibility requirements for provincial certification or licensure requires successful completion of a nationally accredited Paramedic program at the certificate or associate degree level.
Education
Education and skill requirements vary province to province. The National Traffic Safety Administration designs and specifies a national curriculum for paramedic training. Most paramedic education and certifying programs require that a student is at a minimum educated and trained to the National Curriculum for a particular skill level. The Federal Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (FRSMP) is a central certifying entity whose primary purpose is to maintain a national standard. FRSMP also provides certification information for paramedics who relocate to another province.
